More than 25 years ago while living in Rio de Janeiro I discovered a small family run needlepoint rug business on the coast of Northern Brazil. Talented Brazilian artisans were hand stitching beautiful needlepoint rugs of 100% virgin wool and this is where the story of Vermilion begins.
Vermilion rugs has taken the needlepoint rug to a new and different level. Seamless rugs are stitched in custom sizes, permitting ideal proportions for any room, large or small. Many of our traditional designs are taken from antique Portuguese tiles passed down through generations but we also introduced unique contemporary and geometric designs. There are no other needlepoint rugs in todays rug market that can create such varied designs.
Once you choose from a myriad of Vermilion designs we can custom color and size the rug to your specifications. More than 100 yarn colors are available to allow you unlimited color combinations.
We also produce runners for stairs. Many of our designs lend themselves to a narrow custom width for a staircase. Our rugs are extremely durable and therefore suitable for stair traffic.
We personally oversee each rug order and give utmost attention to detail from the initial design choice to the completion of your rug.
