We performed an additional test to Certify that our products are Fire Resistant.
Known as ASTM D2859, this test is measures the response of finished textile floor covering materials when exposed to an ignition source.
A flammable tablet is placed in the center of a sample and lit. When the tablet burns out, the uncharred area of the sample must be greater than one inch. Seven of the eight samples tested must respond this way in order to meet the certification standard.
Our rugs averaged over 3.5 inches of uncharred area on all samples!
